LACING YOUR CORSET
If you looking to re-lace your corset, there are two known ways to do this...
1st
..................V- lacing...............
- Start from the top of the corset and bring the laces through the grommets from the inside out /Adjust the laces to be the same length from both sides/
- Cross the laces (left over right) and put the tip through the next grommet from the inside again. Repeat until you get to the waist line. For more beautiful look, try keep the laces flat and not let them twist. Keep it consistent.
- At the waist, skip a grommet, but don’t cross the laces. On each side bring the lacing through the same side into the grommet you skipped. Leave most of the excess lacing at this loop. This will be the loop you use to tighten the corset at the waist. Then cross the laces and proceed as you did before.
- Tie off in a small bow/knot at the bottom.
- Tie laces at the waist into big bow.
Attn: Tightening at the waist is necessary for comfortable cinching into a corset. It's helps perfectly reduce your waist line, repeat smooth curves of your body & keep stress from tightening in one place. Also tightening at the waist make lacing much stronger.
Notes:
- Lace corset yourself or ask a friend to lace you up.
- Always lace it down /from top to bottom/.
- For more beautiful look, try keep the laces flat and not let them twist.
- Lacing should be consistent /left over right or right over left/.
2nd
This way is used by tight lacers & helps to close your corset completely /no gap, if size of the corset allows this/.
..................X- lacing..................
- Start from the top of the corset and bring the laces through the grommets from the inside out /Adjust the laces to be the same length from both sides/
- Cross the laces (left over right) and put them through from the face side (outside) to the lining side. Cross the laces again (left over right), this time put the laces through the grommets from the lining side to the face side. Repeat until you get to the waist line.
- At the waist, skip a grommet from the inside to the outside, but don’t cross the laces. On each side bring the lacing through the same side into the grommet you skipped. Leave most of the excess lacing at this loop. This will be the loop you use to tighten the corset at the waist. Then cross the laces and proceed as you did before all the way to the bottom.
- Tie a small bow/knot at the bottom.
- Tie laces at the waist into big bow.
